Servant of God Louis Savinien Dupuis sacrificed his life for the sake of the growth and development of the Pondicherry Mission. He served as the manager of Mission Press for about thirty three years and as a spiritual director of the congregation for thirty years.
He became an expert in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu during his mission in India. He is the author of Tamil-French-Tamil dictionary. He divided the marvelous Tamil Epic “Thembavani” into four parts for an easy understanding of the public.
Servant of God Louis Savinien Dupuis has been a man of God, a multifaceted expert in the development of Tamil language, a person who sowed the seeds for women enhancement through women education. He is the founder of Immaculate Higher Secondary School Pondicherry in 1844. Generation after generation his name will be remembered for the selfless contribution towards women empowerment.
