The event began with a soulful prayer and lamp lighting, followed by a warm welcome from the Head of the Department, Mrs. R.R. Sweetline. Chief Guest Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Associate Professor at Pondicherry University, was honoured and delivered an enlightening address on the origins of Mathematics. The programme included the presentation of the annual academic report, future plans, prize distribution, and motivational speeches by students. The ceremony concluded with an oath-taking by association members and a heartfelt teacher felicitation by the students.

The Department of Mathematics and Physics organized an industrial visit to Auroville to provide students with practical exposure and experiential learning beyond the classroom. Our first stop was the Auroville Botanical Garden, where students gained valuable insights into various plant species and their conservation efforts. The visit offered an opportunity to explore different thematic gardens such as the Orchid House, Japanese Garden, Butterfly Garden, Plumeria Garden, and Cactus Garden, among others. The experience enhanced our understanding of biodiversity and environmental sustainability. Following this, we visited the Auroville Matrimandir, an architectural marvel and a symbol of peace and unity. We had lunch and spent some quality time exploring the serene surroundings, appreciating the tranquil atmosphere and the philosophy behind Auroville’s establishment. Our final destination was the Auroville Beach, where we relaxed and reflected on the day’s experiences. The soothing environment of the beach provided a perfect conclusion to our enriching industrial visit.

Description: The Department of Mathematics organized a one-day National Workshop on the Analysis of Mathematical Science. We were honored to have distinguished resource persons from the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, including Dr. S.V. Bharanedhar, Dr. T. Kavaskar, and Dr. Divya Arumugam Research Scientist,Nyro Research India , cochin,Kerela.Additionally, we were privileged to have Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Associate Professor at the Ramanujan School of Mathematical Sciences, Pondicherry University, and Thiru M. Vaithiyanadhan, MLA of the Indian National Congress, as our esteemed chief guests. The workshop was attended by approximately 7 college students and staff members, all of whom greatly benefited from the program. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the PI Day and National Mathematics Day competitions, adding an element of fun and excitement to the event.
