On 15 November 2025, ten NSS volunteers from Idhaya College participated in a Walkathon at Rock Beach to create awareness on suicide prevention. NSS Conservation Day Celebration Report
On 25/11/2025, 15 NSS volunteers from our college actively participated in the Conservation Day Celebration held at the Botanical Garden, Puducherry. The programme was organized with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and protecting biodiversity for future generations.
The event was graced by eminent guests, including Dr. Bubesh Gupta and Dr. Ramanujam, Retired Botany Professor from PG Centre, who addressed the gathering and shared their valuable insights. In total, around 150 students from various colleges across the Puducherry region took part in the celebration.
During the event, the resource persons delivered informative sessions on topics such as:
The significance of biodiversity conservation
The vital role of plants in maintaining ecological balance
The impact of human activities on natural ecosystems
Sustainable practices for protecting the environment
The volunteers also had the opportunity to explore the botanical garden, observe rare and endangered plant species, and understand the scientific techniques used for conservation. They learned how botanical gardens act as living laboratories that support education, research, and preservation of plant diversity.
The programme created strong environmental awareness and inspired the volunteers to take active steps in promoting greenery and protecting natural resources. The visit proved to be a highly enriching experience, strengthening the spirit of responsibility towards the environment and aligning with the NSS motto “Not Me but You.”

On 25.10.2025, the Health awareness program was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Idhaya Auditorium. The welcome address was given by Mrs. D. Malaimady, Asst Prof., Dept of Language and Felicitation address was given by Mrs. Alamelu, Asst Prof.,Department of Language. The musical debate competition was graced by the presence of the chief guest and judge, Dr. Perunthurai Ravikumar. The debate competition was presided by our Beloved Principal and Secretary of our college, Rev. Sr. Dr. A. Fathima. The event went on smoothly and concluded at 3:50 PM. All the students who attended enjoyed the debate thoroughly. The four participating students from our college presented their views impressively and confidently.

On account of Vigilance Awareness Week, a Poster Presentation Competition was organized in our college on 30.10.2025 to promote integrity, honesty, and transparency among students.
Students from various departments actively participated and displayed creative posters on the theme “Corruption-free India for a Developed Nation.” The posters highlighted the importance of ethical behavior and the collective responsibility of citizens in building a corruption-free society.
The event was organized under the guidance of NSS PO officer Mrs.D.Malimady and Dr.M.Kalaivani The best posters were selected based on creativity, message clarity, and presentation. Winners were awarded certificates of appreciation.

06.11.2025 On account of the upcoming elections, 9 NSS volunteers from our college visited Kamarajar Nagar to take part in an Election department SIR Form Correction Awareness Programme. The volunteers worked actively with the public, spreading awareness about the importance of voting and encouraging citizens to exercise their right to vote responsibly.
Under the guidance of Election department staffs volunteers interacted with residents, distributed SIR Form Correction and explained the significance of ethical voting. Their enthusiastic participation helped promote civic responsibility and strengthen democratic values among the community.
