Bachelor of computer applications (BCA) programme is a three-year course for students who wish to delve into the world of computer languages. BCA course is one of the most popular options to get started with a career in information technology.
This degree would help in setting up a sound academic base for an advanced career in computer applications. The department of computer application was started in the year 2016 with the intake of 30 students. The university had sanctioned 20 additional intakes of students in the academic year 2021-2022.The current department strength is 127 students. So far 119 students had passed out with good academic skills.
The department is enriched with adequate qualified and well experienced faculties. Also have well equipped lecture halls, computer lab, internet facility, projector in lab, audio visual room, Auditorium and a library to facilitate the students. Add-on course like personality development, RJ/VJ, Digital Photography, Aari work, beautician, Herbal Gardening, silambam, etc.. Which were given to our students to develop the talents and skills, on to make them efficient to comprehend the opportunities and create a vibrant progress in all their endeavours.
The Department of Computer applications aim to generate groomed, technically competent and skilled intellectual, professionals specifically from the rural area to meet the current challenge of the modern computing industry.

The computer Lab has equipped with latest computers. Computer Lab 1 with 60 systems 1 LCD projector. Our lab is well equipped with the latest configuration machines and original software’s. The network communication includes a fiber optic backbone is offering 100 Mbps connectivity to the internet.The department has wireless internet connectivity to access the network by the laptop and mobile. Our curriculum includes a wide variety of subjects to enhance the practical knowledge of the students, which are listed below:

Mrs. Sankari Laksminarayan., M.Tech., M.B.A., Chief Academic officer, Space Zone India, Chennai was the chief guest and presented the seminar. II & III year BCA students were the participants. The Chief Guest distributed the medals to the winners of the intra department events and issued the Certificates to the winners and also the participants of intra department events.

WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION:
On 09.03.2024 Women’s Day was celebrated by our department in the adopted village, Lingareddipalayam, Puducherry. Mr. G. Durai, President, Lingareddipalayam village, Puducherry, Mr. G. Ramamurthi, Vice-President, Lingareddipalayam Village, Mr. N. Elumalai and Mrs. P. Meenatchi, Head,Women’s Self Help Group, Lingareddipalayam were the guests. As an inauguration session tree saplings were planted by the guests. Mrs. P. Meenatchi gave a speech on Women’s empowerment. Games were conducted among the village women. Prizes were distributed to the winners by the Chief Guest. Final year BCA students exhibit the various dishes in milletes. The Chief Guest and the audience tasted the food and congratulate our girls of their different preparation of foods in milletes.
