Equal Opputunity Cell


The Equal Opportunity Cell was established by our college on 12th August, 2019 to address the issues related to students belonging to Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe, Other Backward Caste and minorities and the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on a continual basis. Inculcating respect for diversity within the college has always been an endeavour of the Institute. To put this into action, the college has a duly constituted Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC), the main objective of which is to empower all students (SC/ST/OBC/minorities and persons with disabilities) to participate fully in the academic, intellectual, social and cultural life of our college on an equal basis. The unit sincerely attempts to ensure the implementation of policies and programmes issued by the government for various disadvantaged groups from time to time. Regular guidance and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters is provided to the students.

OBJECTIVES:
To investigate all possible means of assisting the SC/ST, OBC, minority groups, and PWD.
To encourage women’s empowerment
To foster a socially congenial environment for academic interaction and the development of healthy interpersonal relationships among students from various social backgrounds.

VISION:
1. Focusing on overall personality and skill development so as to ensure enhancing their employability.
2. Inclusive growth for everyone by encompassing everyone into the mainstream of society.
3. Providing personal counselling and career guidance.
4. Awareness building and sensitization regarding discrimination on various grounds.

PROPOSED ACTIVITES OF THE CELL:
1.Organising expert lectures on awareness regarding Equal Opportunity Cell
2. Organizing lectures, Seminars, workshops on relevant topics to promote awareness on such issues among students and teaching staff
3. Assisting students from deprived sections, financially for participation in national International Academic Events
4.. Organising Remedial Classes, for improving the academic performance of students from deprived sections.
5. Providing help or assistance in mid and end semester examination like writer, additional invigilator etc
