1833-ஆம் ஆண்டு புதுவைக்கு வருகை புரிந்த துப்புயி அடிகளார் இறை ஊழியம் செய்ததுடன் பெண்கள் வாழ்வில் மேன்மை அடைய இந்தியாவிலேயே முதன்முதலாக பெண்களுக்கான தமிழ்ப் பள்ளிக்கூடத்தை நிறுவியவர்.தமிழ் மொழிக்குத் தொண்டாற்றியவர்.அறத்தையும் தர்மத்தையும் நிலைநாட்ட பாடுபட்டவர்.உழைப்பு,நேர்மை,விடாமுயற்சி இவை அனைத்தையும் இன்றைய தலைமுறையினர் அறியும் வகையில் அடிகளாரது படைப்புகள் சிறப்பாக உள்ளது. தமிழ் மொழிக்கு அவர் ஆற்றிய அரும் பணிகளை மாணவிகளிடம் கொண்டு சேர்ப்பது இம்மன்றத்தின் நோக்கம்.

On 14.11.2025, the Thuppuyi Cultural Movement organized a seminar on the theme “Thuppuyi Adigalaar’s Contribution to Women’s Advancement.” Prof. P. Vivekananda Dasan, Department of Tamil, Kasturba Government Women’s College, Puducherry, delivered the keynote address. He explained how the social conditions of Adigalaar’s time—such as child marriage, the status of widows, and denial of education to women—influenced his writings like Illara Uththiyanam, Nandraai Ninai, and Thuravu Uththiyanam. The event began with a devotional song by Ms. Crystal. Ms. Abigyal, Assistant Leader of the Movement and student of Computer Applications, skillfully compered the program. Dr. Alamelu delivered the welcome address, and Mrs. Malarmathi presented the vote of thanks. Students who melodiously rendered verses from Ozhukkamālai received cash awards and certificates. The event concluded successfully.
